Going full-time with your side hustle

Welcome to this week's episode with Property Developer, Emily Labbate (@Lovea_project on Instagram)

Have you ever felt stuck in a career that just doesn’t feel right? Or wondered what it takes to make a bold leap into something completely new? Today, we’re joined by Emily Labbate, a true jack of all trades who’s turned her passion into her new career. Most recently, Emily was training to become a solicitor specialising in commercial property, but the relentless grind, combined with studying and earning just above minimum wage, left her feeling out of balance and disconnected from her family. So, what did she do? She took a brave leap in January this year to focus solely on her side hustle — property development. Just six months in, Emily has already completed her first solo project and is close to completing her second!

Key discussion points:

  • Emily’s decision to take the road less travelled and the challenges / triumphs of changing careers
  • Balancing multiple roles and responsibilities when working on a project
  • Mastering imposter syndrome and the creative process of designing homes
